From Greece to Greengrocers
Each year, I produce a studio book to send to clients, collaborators and industry friends.
My 2018 studio book, Apostrophe, is an extract from my Nerd Nite talk Apostrophes: from Greece to Greengrocers.
It has involved a highly-enjoyable voyage of typographic nerdery. I’ve discovered a mid 18th-century rant at St Bride Printing Library, tried calligraphy with a carpenter’s pencil, learned something about typewriter design, talked market stall tickets with a fourth-generation market sundriesman and found a greengrocer who had no apostrophes.
