An imaginary hell, earth, heaven and limbo... Blaze of Glory is my third illustration adventure with independent perfumer Sarah McCartney of 4160 Tuesdays.
What you can see here is my hand, illustrating, on an iPad. But where it started was in Sarah’s studio, smelling perfumes in development and hearing about the stories behind the collection. There’s been design history research into turn-of-the-century stained glass. There have been museum visits. There have been roughs on paper; concept visuals; type research; workings-out across a brain-meltingly complicated set of sizes and proportions…
The mockups are made from giclée prints. It’s exciting to see them on bottles. And as Sarah says on her website, we have plans for the finished labels to be knock your socks off gorgeous.
