I love going down rabbit holes of research so I've tried out a postcard with an opening door that can be placed on a random page in any book on each of the 24 days to provide a mini-brief for exploration, art, poetry… To try it out, I’ve used my songwriter’s rhyming dictionary, for I have one, and a Victorian book on gardening.
And I’ve made and stitched together 24 tiny sketchbooks, for a drawing (or several) a day, putting something into the advent calendar instead of taking something out.
