From palate to palette

a chip fork turned into a fish with some drawing, two sketches on postcards, one of boats and the other, at Two Tree Island nature reserve and a sketchbook drawing of iced coffees.

Chip fork fish? DIY postcards?

There’s been a field trip to the seaside for the latest episode of Studio Snack, a food podcast about design that I make with Narcis Sauleda.

We were researching seaside snacks and for our grand day out, as well as my usual hand-bound sketchbook made from waste I brought postcards to draw on. But what I love about rocking up somewhere (See what I did there?) is the things you’re not looking for.

A place as an invitation to play.

The design in apparently undesigned things.

A palette from a handful of colours.

Grab an ice cream and have a listen as we dive into history, play with our food and make some marks on a sketch walk.
