Biscuit kerning. When design life has got a little out of hand…
Kerning is adjusting the spacing between letters, particularly on logos or type-based graphics. But biscuits: rarely kerned.
My excuse has been the end of year round-up episode of Studio Snack, the food podcast about design that I make with creative collaborator Narcis Sauleda. Playing with ideas for our collection of take-aways and out-takes, some rearranging of letters emerged – and I have a set of alphabet biscuit cutters.
Many rejects were eaten in the making of this episode’s image and video. It takes a lot of baked lettering to get a few that are right for the task (is my excuse).
Oh – and the biscuits: ginger, with ginger icing.
